Pros of Daylen Everette

  • Size and speed. Height, weight, speed, tester who will project as a sturdy corner in man coverage.
  • Route anticipation. Eyes his target and launches. Can tell he’s spent time in the field room when playing zone.
  • Ball magnet. Ball finds him in big games. He can force fumbles and smother pass catchers, daring quarterbacks to target him before making them pay.

Cons of Daylen Everette

  • Stiff transitions. Struggles mightily to get in and out of breaks. Hips aren’t bad, but he lacks the recoil to plant and drive efficiently.
  • Doesn’t get his head around. Too many times, he will be in-phase and get handsy rather than trusting his 4.3 speed and just turning around.
  • Lackadaisical at times. Might be a hesitation thing, but he lets up too many easy completions, and he can get caught with his eyes in the backfield.

Background

A four-star out of famed IMG Academy, the Norfolk, Virginia native arrived at the University of Georgia as the No. 7-ranked cornerback in his class after being named an Under Armour All-American in 2022. His impact for the Georgia Bulldogs was felt in 2023 where he started every game for the Bulldogs before being named an All-SEC selection in 2024 and 2025.

Player Evaluation

Everette is a prototype for what you want in a modern corner. If you just look at the measurements, you might think he’s the best corner in the draft, bar none. Some of his tape mirrors that, with quality reps in both man and zone coverage, often displaying wins from Everette in high-leverage scenarios. He has the horsepower to be a boundary man defender and the eyes to match in zone concepts. Problems arise when he’s asked to change direction rapidly, and he can become too reliant on his speed at times. If he can get his eyes around and shore up his feet, he can be in the league for a long time.
