Georgia offensive tackle Amarius Mims is dealing with a right hamstring injury that he suffered during his first 40-yard dash attempt at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine.
Mims clocked an impressive unofficial 5.07 in his first run. Due to his injury, Mims did not run again.
NFL Network's Stacey Dales reported that Mims is "unsure how severe" his injury is, but "wants to continue testing and competing at the combine."
Dales also reported that he stepped aside to ice his hamstring.
Before on-field testing began, Mims had gone viral for his size.
He officially weighed in at 6-foot-7 and 340 pounds with 11/4" hands, 36 and 1/8" arms, and an 86 and 3/4" wingspan.
He also logged a 9'3" broad jump and 25 1/2" vertical.
Mims injured his ankle during his final season with the Bulldogs but was deemed fully healthy ahead of the combine in Indianapolis.
According to A to Z Sports' Travis May, Mims' right hamstring injury shouldn't affect his draft stock and he will have another chance to boost it even more at Georgia's Pro Day.
"Amarius Mims injured his hamstring amid an impressive NFL Combine performance, but says he should be good to go by Georgia’s Pro Day on March 13th," May said. "The mild hamstring issue shouldn’t impact his top-tier draft capital. Mims is projected to be a first-round pick, thanks to his incredible combination of size, strength, and mobility."
