Marcus Rosemy Jacksaint Draft Profile
ESPN

Pros:

  • Body Control
Can contort his body to advantageous positions while in the air and against tight coverage
  • Balance
Maintains appropriate landmarks and is able to sink his hips well for a high cut player
  • Physicality
Shows up in the aggressiveness of his hands and in his blocking. Plays with an obvious edge and can be an intimidating presence for smaller DBs

Cons:

  • Separation
Not an elite athlete. Lacks downfield speed, quickness or agility on film to consistently win against good corners and vs man coverage
  • Route Running
Runs a decent amount of routes but doesn’t play with much nuance or technique. Generally separates via his size and physicality
  • Rawness
Plays without an in-depth understanding of leverage, angles and movement patterns needed to consistently separate

Player Evaluation:

MRJ is an alpha wideout that looks to dominate smaller corners. He plays bigger than his listed height with excellent body control and strong hands to play above the rim.

The problem is that MRJ lacks the technique and high end athleticism to separate in multiple ways. He’s a jump ball only, clean release kind of player.

MRJ has a chance to make highlight level plays in at the Senior Bowl, potentially stealing the show with an acrobatic catch over some of the corners in Mobile, helping him standout in a crowded WR class.

Player Comp:

Floor Comp: Sammy Coates

A physical marvel that lacked the ability to do much more than win the occasional jump ball

Ceiling Comp: DeVantae Parker

Win using their strong hands and body control to go over the top of smaller corners and DBs
