The 2025 NFL Draft is less than six months away, but it's never too early to become informed on the top players in the upcoming draft class.
Our team of NFL Draft contributors at A to Z Sports decided to rank our top 5 prospects at every position collectively.
We each ranked our top five, then tallied the point totals similar to what you have likely seen with the AP Poll in college football to create our top CBs expected to hear their names called in the 2025 NFL Draft.
1. Will Johnson, CB Michigan
Highest Ranking: 1
Lowest Ranking: 2
Michigan's Will Johnson ranked as our top CB in the 2025 draft class. He earned six out of seven first-place votes and is widely regarded as the best CB prospect in years. In a QB class that currently lacks a true top 5-10 prospect, it's still early but a top 2-5 selection can't be ruled out yet.
What makes Johnson so special is his diverse skillset. Typically, bigger corners like Johnson (6-2, 205) might lack long speed or hip fluidity, making up for it with their physicality. But for Johnson, he checks all athletic boxes, while being built like a safety, and having the instincts and ball skills requisite of a turnover machine.
2. Travis Hunter, CB Colorado
Highest Ranking: 1
Lowest Ranking: 4
Argubly the most popular player in all of college football right now, Hunter managed to crack the tip five of our WR rankings, while also receiving one first-place vote among the corners. That two-way prowess is seldom seen at the collegiate level, as Hunter could make a real push for the Heisman Trophy at the end of the season.
For Hunter, he will likely need to make a decision as to which position he wants to resign to as a full-time player in the NFL. Hearing his name called with the title "Athlete" would be a true display of elite traits, but most people around the league think he projects best as a CB.
Ball skills, silky smooth movements, and an elite IQ thanks to his experience as a WR, Hunter will be highly coveted come round one.
3. Shavon Revel Jr., CB East Carolina
Highest Ranking: 2
Lowest Ranking: 5
Revel Jr. is one of the names to get to know as the draft process starts to heat up. Unlike the other four on this list. Revel Jr. is the only player from a non power-four conference to crack the top five, and its for good reason.
There are three things that will always sell at CB. Length, speed and ball skills. At 6-3 with an estimated 4.4 or lower 40 and 12 pass breakup-interceptions, he is gong to fit the bill for a lot of teams.
A lack of experience is the only thing holding Revel back, but traits matter at CB and he has them in spades.
4. Benjamin Morrison, CB Notre Dame
Highest Ranking: 2
Lowest Ranking: Unranked
The next promising DB to put on a Golden Dome, Morrison was a polarizing prospect among our group, as some had him ranked as high as #2 in the class, with others leaving him out of their top five altogether. A tricky eval following a season ending injury, who better to ask about Morrison than Notre Dame beat writer and NFL Draft analyst, Ryan Roberts:
Benjamin Morrison is one of the more naturally instinctive cover cornerbacks in the 2025 Draft class. He also boasts impressive ball skills, evident by his nine career interceptions. There are some concerns over general play strength and tackling, as well as a shoulder and hip surgery recently. Improving that play strength is a huge area of emphasis.

5. Tacario Davis, CB Arizona
Highest Ranking: 3
Lowest Ranking: Unranked
The final name on our list, Tacario Davis rounds out A to Z Sports' early top five CB rankings in the 2025 NFL Draft thanks to his absurd length at over 6-4 and with omnipresent competitiveness and physicality.
The list is obviously fluid and many teams will likely be all over the board the further down the list of prospects gets, but for Davis, he's more than worthy of a top-five ranking when analyzing the full picture at this point of the season.

It’s an insanely good running back class
