Abdul Carter continues to take a firm stance on his opinions about the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft

Abdul Carter clearly believes in his abilities, and is fully entrenched on a campaign to go as the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft with a month to go until the first round kicks off from Green Bay.
In a class without a surefire, locked-in star quarterback, there's plenty of room for a defensive player to stake his claim as being worthy of the first overall selection. The Penn State pass rusher clearly believes that he should be the first player to hear his name called.
Taking to X, Carter made his feelings known.
"#1 overall pick, 30 days away," Carter said. "Don't let all this QB need talk fool y'all. It's already known who's the best, and no QB is in that discussion! Like I said, the Best PLAYER goes number 1. Generational, remember."
His "generational" comment to close the post is noteworthy, because Tennessee Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi said in February that the team wouldn't pass up on a generational talent with the first overall pick. At the NFL Scouting Combine, Borgonzi provided some added information about how he feels about the talent in this class.
Asked about "generational talent" in this year's draft class, Borgonzi said "there's a handful of players, any time at the top of the draft, that you would deem generational talents, and we certainly feel that way is year as well."
'It's a rare skillset of talent, an impact player who can take the team to another level, whatever position it is," he added when asked how to define a generational talent. "And they have to have the character makeup as well to go with it."
For the Titans, who have plenty of team needs, Carter should certainly be in the conversation for what they do with the first overall pick. Clearly he believes that he has the talent and the makeup to meet the definition of Borgonzi.
Expert's ranking of Cameron Ward's accuracy should set off alarm bells despite No. 1 overall pick projections
The 2024 season went almost as well as it could for Miami quarterback Cameron Ward. Transferring from Washington State to the Hurricanes provided Ward a bigger platform, better playmaking, and more exposure than every before. He responded to the opportunity with a season that has him as the favorite to be the top pick in […]
