Senior Bowl practices have wrapped in Mobile, Alabama and multiple players that came in with high hopes of raising their draft stock could actually see their names go down draft boards. Here are the biggest underachievers from the Senior Bowl.
WR Devontez Walker, North Carolina
Devontez Walker had a bad week. While his speed is undeniable, he has had trouble showing the consistent ability to separate. My comp for him his Jalin Hyatt. Incredible speed, can be a deep threat but that is really all. He also struggled with drops throughout the week consistently. He could be a guy who is tried out as a potential return specialist, but I don't see him developing as a true No.1 or No. 2 receiver at the next level.
CB Kalen King, Penn State
King had a few plays this week where he looked like one of the top cornerbacks in this class, but there were several plays in one-on-ones where he was just outclassed. Ricky Pearsall of Florida, Luke McCaffrey of Rice, and Devontez Walker of North Carolina all beat him rather convincingly in separate reps during one-on-ones.
In terms of the Penn State talent that was in Mobile this week, the argument can be made that King was the least impressive.
QB Bo Nix, Oregon
It's bad when you can hear every media member in attendance just ripping the play of Nix this week, but the criticism was warranted. While the final day of practice saw him make two nice throws to Malachi Corley of Western Kentucky, Nix was awful on Tuesday and Wednesday, to be completely frank. His week was filled with miscommunications and underthrows that were becoming the talk of the week.
Most quarterbacks come down to raise their stock and show off their arms, but Nix lost money this week with his play.
