The Detroit Lions had a really solid 2025 NFL Draft. They walked out with some players who could take over starting jobs and roster spots right away. When these things happen, there are always some winners and losers on the team. Here are three winners and three losers for the Lions.

Winners

Jared Goff

Goff already had a pretty solid offensive line and good weapons ahead of the draft, but he walked out with really good interior guys who will help keep him on his feet, and he got receivers who can make contested catches and high-point the ball. Something the Lions haven't really had before during his time.

Ennis Rakestraw

This one might seem like it's coming out of left field, but there were thoughts from draft experts going into the first round that the Lions would take a corner high in the draft. There is no player that would have been more affected by that than Rakestraw. The Lions not even touching corner in the draft really shows that they truly believe in what they have in him and that last year's injury problems were just a fluke.

Brad Holmes

He's not a player, he just crushes the draft a lot. Everyone wanted the edge rusher, and he got a really good one with big upside in the sixth round. He found the X-receiver, got the future at nose tackle and right guard too. This was a good draft. Dare I say, it was better than last year's.

Losers (Nobody is actually a loser)

Graham Glasgow

Glasgow now has to battle it out with Mahogany, Ratledge, and Frazier, and there are only two starting spots to take. He had some struggles last year. Can the veteran get over those struggles and secure his starting job?

Tim Patrick

With TeSlaa coming in, the Lions have a player who is younger, faster, and more athletic to take on that WR3 spot. Patrick's still going to see the field, but it should be expected that he won't see it as much as last year, and that he can take on a real leadership role with these young receivers. Both TeSlaa and Meeks can learn a lot from him.

Brodric Martin

You hate to see a third-round pick not work out, but the Lions put two years of work into Martin, and it hasn't panned out yet. With the Lions drafting Tyleik Williams, signing Roy Lopez, bringing Levi Onwuzurike back, and getting Mehki Wingo back from injury, Martin is just the odd man out. Maybe they keep him on the practice squad, but the days of him holding a spot on the 53-man roster seem over with. That is, unless he has a killer camp.
