9 biggest takeaways from Lions win over Titans, special teams has special day

What a day for the Detroit Lions. Who would have thought that Sunday would be the day the Lions would hit the 50 point mark for the first time since 1997? Well, they did that in a 52-14 win over the Titans.
Goff Report
What a weird day for Goff. If I would have told you that Goff would get sacked four times and throw for less than 100 yards, you would have asked me how much they lost by. Yet the Lions scored the most points in a game since Barry Sanders was on the team. Goff didn't have to do much. The Lions defense and special teams put him on the Titans' door step multiple times in this game. All he had to do was find a way into the end zone and he and the Lions did five times.
Hooker report
Was hoping to see more from him with an entire quarter to play, but instead the Lions went into clock kill mode. One of these days it would be cool to see the Lions let him open it up a little more in these spots.
Special Teams have a day
It's not too often that you get to say that special teams had a huge part in winning a game, but they did. A 72-yard kick return from Khalil Dorsey set up a touchdown and then a 64-yard punt return from Kalif Raymond set up another touchdown. Then Kalif Raymond wanted one for himself so he took a 90-yard punt return touchdown to the house. Then Jack Fox did the damn thing when he had to punt and Jake Bates kicked hit a 51-yard field goal. What a day.
Should we call him "Zeke" now?
Isaiah Thomas made his Lions debut on Sunday and he totally understood the assignment when he showed up in an Isiah Thomas jersey. He also understood it on the field. He came up with a fumble recovery in this one.
Arden Key
If I'm Brad Holmes, I'm saying "hey Arden, can I show you something" after the game. Then once Key walks over I'm shoving him into a locked broom closet and not letting him out until the Titans have boarded their plane. Then I'd hold him hostage until the Titans accepted a seventh-round pick for him. In all seriousness, I'd make a call and see what the Titans want on Monday.
Nowaske might be a thing
Nowaske has been active for three weeks and in that time he has two sacks and an interception. When he's not doing that, he's making some nice tackles. This kid might be a thing. You can really tell why the Lions wanted him back.
Tight End day
Despite the Lions offense not having to do a lot of heavy lifting on Sunday, they still managed to get two tight ends into the end zone on National Tight End Day. That's love right there. Sadly we did not get a Shane Zylstra touchdown to complete the trifecta.
AG remains not terrible
Look, I know this has oddly become a short hand thing for some Lions fans anytime Detroit gets scored on, but Aaron Glenn is having a great season right now.
Even in this game where the Titans looked unstoppable in the first quarter, the Lions defense absolutely locked them down after that. They forced three turnovers and held the Titans to no points after the first. It's time to calm down on the AG slander.
I'm not calling it the "Amik Peek"
What a game from Amik Robertson. He punched out two fumbles in this one. He got beat a few times, but he defintley made up for it with his play later in the game. He has been a great addition. Despite the announcers calling Robertson's version of the peanut punch the "Amik peek," I will not be participating in that.
Did a giant hint about the Lions possible trade for their next pass rusher maybe just drop in the AFC?
Let's play detective here for a moment shall we? The Detroit Lions are a team that is in desperate need of pass rusher help with Aidan Hutchinson, John Cominsky, Marcus Davenport and Josh Paschal out. We know they've been calling around looking for teams to trade with and one of the teams they may have […]
