There's been a lot of drama surrounding Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray over the last week.

And it really all centers around Murray scrubbing his Instagram of all things Cardinals-related.

This move by Murray was immediately bizarre. There was no evidence of major drama between the former Heisman Trophy winner and the Cardinals before this move.

On Sunday, we got a little bit of clarity on the situation via ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Mortensen reported that Murray is frustrated and embarrassed by the Cardinals' 34-11 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. Mortensen then said sources have told him that Murray is "self-centered" and "immature".

It's obvious that the leak about Murray being immature and self-centered is coming from within the Cardinals' organization.

Mortensen got information from a source that the franchise plans on Murray being their quarterback in 2022.

The only source that Mortensen is going to trust in regards to the franchise's plans is someone within the organization.

Presumably, that same source gave Mort the information about Murray's attitude.

So what in the world are the Cardinals doing? If they plan to move forward with Murray as their quarterback, why complicate the relationship? And why trash your starting quarterback?

I have no clue if the description of Murray is accurate. That completely depends on perception. One person may feel that way about Murray while another person may feel the opposite. Putting that information out there as Mortensen did is absolutely unfair to Murray. It's completely subjective.

Arizona is handling this whole situation as badly as any franchise could. If Murray ends up demanding a trade, I wouldn't blame him. When a franchise is trashing you publicly via "sources" it's probably time to find a new home.

I imagine there are quite a few teams in need of a quarterback that would love to have a 24-year-old quarterback that's been to two straight Pro-Bowls.

The Cardinals need to do some damage control quickly. Otherwise, they're heading straight for quarterback purgatory. And that's a dangerous place to be (just ask the New York Jets).
