"Jonathan Gannon and the Cardinals defense loves versatile outside linebackers who can get after the quarterback. Walker fits the system perfectly, having the versatility to also play off ball and in space at times. This feels like a seamless transition."

New A to Z Sports mock draft

Georgia's Jalon Walker played all over the field this past season. He had a nearly even split of lining up as an off-ball linebacker (258 snaps) and as an edge rusher (203). He even lined up as a slot corner for nearly 60 snaps.

The Cardinals have a need at both LB and Edge, which makes Walker seem like a seamless fit if he's available when they are on the clock in the 2025 NFL Draft. If I had to guess, Walker would probably play LB early in his career, but I think he has a much higher ceiling as an edge rusher. He needs an NFL coaching staff to help him develop as a pass rusher and make him consistent enough to play there full-time.
