The Baltimore Ravens' first-round pick is officially in!
With the 27th overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, the New England Patriots selected Georgia S Malaki Starks
The Ravens will now have both Starks and Kyle Hamilton, making for a dominant secondary.
Everything to know about Malaki Starks
Safety was one of the Ravens biggest needs in the draft, and at No. 27, they got their guy.
Starks was a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award last season, which is given to the nation's top defensive back in college football. He is one of the best safeties available finishing with 77 total tackles, three passes defended, and one interception last season.
A to Z Sports' Tyler Forness provided some more context on what Starks can bring to the Ravens defense.
"A perfect 100 five star recruit out of high school, Malaki Starks started in his second game at Georgia, which isn't the norm for a program like Georgia. He was an impact player from day one with his range, athleticism, and ball skills showing out. In his career, Starks intercepted six passes and broke up 14 more. Some might end up moving him down draft boards due to his poor testing at the NFL Combine, but the film doesn't show any issues. Overall, Starks is a potential All-Pro in the right system who will likely be a value because safeties slide down the board," Forness wrote.
