The Ravens’ road to redemption is seeking the spark to light a fire in Week 8 — and it appears to be getting exactly that

Making a run is going to be tough — but it becomes a lot more digestible based on Friday’s development.

The Baltimore Ravens‘ road to relevance and redemption starts on Sunday against the Chicago Bears. Baltimore is going to need to execute some flawless football over the next two months in order to undo the damage of the early chapters of this season. The good news for them is that the schedule appears ready to oblige.

But the Bears will not be an easy out. They’ve built some momentum over the course of the last few weeks and do have the talent up front to consistently threaten the line of scrimmage. Baltimore is going to need to unveil some major changes to get this next win — but it sounds like they are indeed ready to make one major one in time for Week 8.

Lamar Jackson was a full participant in Friday’s practice, setting the stage for a return to action

Getting Lamar Jackson back on the field is a must — we all saw what this offense looked like without him prior to the bye week. There is no dreams of a return to a winning season if there is no Lamar. But Jackson is going to need to see the group around him step up in a big way, too. Remember, before Jackson got hurt, he was prolific. And the Ravens were still losing.

But the two-time NFL MVP returning to action should give the Ravens answers to the Bears’ aggressive defense. Fresh legs should, in theory, afford him the escapability needed to run away from Bears blitzes from defensive coordinator Dennis Allen.

They say that the first one is the hardest one to get when you’re in a skid. That could be the case for Baltimore — but once they get the next win under their belt, who knows where this thing could go? Thankfully, it sounds like Jackson is now set to be a part of the effort moving forward, just in the nick of time.
