It seems like every week there's a new piece of "bulletin board" material that pops up for the Bengals in some form or fashion.
And we know that Cincinnati head coach Zac Taylor is keeping up with it all after he told reporters during last year's playoffs that he'll "search every inch of the internet" to find motivation.
Well, his team received some motivation this week as CBS Sports' Pete Prisco pushed the Buffalo Bills above the Bengals in his post-NFL Draft power rankings.
Prisco has the Kansas City Chiefs at No. 1 and the Philadelphia Eagles at No. 2 — which is fair considering both teams reached the Super Bowl last season and seemingly improved this offseason. He then has the Bills at No. 3 and the Bengals at No. 4 (The San Francisco 49ers round out the top five).
From CBS Sports: The Bengals and Joe Burrow will be in the top 10 for the foreseeable future. They are so talented and they are coming off an impressive draft that will help keep the defense improving.
Cincy quarterback Joe Burrow might be the one that really wants to take this personally. Prisco is essentially picking Bills quarterback Josh Allen over Burrow, which is quite a take considering Burrow beat Buffalo in the playoffs last season (and he nearly led Cincinnati to a win against the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game for a second straight season).
I don't think there's anyone outside of Buffalo who would take Allen over Burrow. And if Bills fans are being honest, there are quite a few that likely wish Burrow was their quarterback.
The Bengals have proven over the last two years that they're the top competition in the AFC for the Chiefs. But based on these power rankings, it looks like they'll have to prove it again in 2023.
And I'm pretty confident they will. There's zero reason to doubt Burrow after what we've seen the last two seasons.
