Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has a unique connection the College World Series.

And it's not just because LSU, Burrow's alma mater, is still alive in the annual tournament.

Burrow actually has a family connection to the College World Series.

The superstar quarterback was born in Iowa and he's spent most of his life in Ohio. But he has some deep family connections to the state of Nebraska, which is where the College World Series takes place each summer.

Burrow's father and both of his brothers, Dan and Jamie, played played at Nebraska. And his mom is from Nebraska.

One of Burrow's brothers, Jamie, resides in Nebraska and he's an investor in a popular restaurant (The Early Bird) in Omaha that sees plenty of business during the College World Series — specifically from LSU fans (the Tigers are often one of the teams that reaches the College World Series).

Jamie told WAFB this week that he was intimately familiar with LSU fans long before Burrow landed in Baton Rouge in 2018.

"My experience with LSU and their fandom was the College World Series back in the old Rosenblatt days," said Jamie. "Some of the Tiger fans would rent houses across the street and pretty much have jambalaya, gumbo, the whole thing. And if you walked by and struck up any conversation, they'd invite you over to party with them."

Jamie, who said that Joey B might make it out to Omaha this weekend if LSU advances to the finals against Florida (The Tigers have to beat Wake Forest on Thursday night to advance), suggested that his younger brother isn't nearly as interesting as everyone thinks he is.

"He's not as interesting as everyone seems to think," said Jamie. "He really just likes to hang out with his family and friends at home. He's a homebody. Good, hardworking, honest person that just kind of likes to keep to himself with the people that he loves."

Burrow has a deep love for LSU so it certainly wouldn't be a surprise to see the former No. 1 overall draft pick show up in Omaha if the Tigers can get by Wake Forest on Thursday night.
