Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow didn't have a very fun return to game action on Sunday afternoon.
Burrow, who missed most of training camp with a calf injury, completed just 14-of-31 passes for 82 yards in Cincinnati's 24-3 loss to the Cleveland Browns.
The Bengals have now lost six of their last seven games against Browns.
After the loss, Burrow met with reporters and he had a funny/authentic reaction to a reporter who pointed out that Cincy head coach Zac Taylor said he saw some good things from the Bengals' offense in the loss to the Browns.
You can see the moment/answer from Burrow at the 1:07 mark of the video below.
"Yeah, I don't know, I don't know," said Burrow with a tension-cutting laugh. "It's a rep in the elements (rain) that you don't get a lot. And you live and you learn from it. We're going to come back better so the next time we're in a game like that we're going to be more well equipped to handle those elements and come out on top."
It was a fun light-hearted moment from Burrow after a rough season-opener. It was also a reminder that Burrow is the perfect leader for a Cincinnati team with Super Bowl aspirations this season. As the Bengals' leader, Burrow isn't going to let his teammates panic after a second straight subpar season-opener. He's been here before and he knows that the loss to Cleveland on Sunday won't define the Bengals' 2023 season.
