The Buffalo Bills came close to representing the AFC in the Super Bowl last season but fell just short of that goal. The team lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship but saw a career year for quarterback Josh Allen earn him the NFL's MVP award.
Now, they enter the offseason with the same goal as a year ago and have already made some intriguing moves to take steps toward it. In a new A to Z Sports 2025 NFL mock draft, the Bills cash in on the majority of the league passing on a special talent, which led him to fall right into their lap.
Bills land Georgia star safety in a new 2025 NFL Mock Draft

"At one point, some viewed Malaki Starks as a potential top-10 pick in the class. But his 2024 film saw some significant regression from years past and lacks elite athleticism that some teams will covet at the position. His instincts in coverage, though, will have him high on some team's boards, and the Bills should be one of them. The team didn't get enough from their safety duo in 2024, and Starks has the ability to play either safety spot, though I think he would be best used at FS.
– New A to Z Sports Mock Draft
If you asked me who the one player I think would be the best fit for the Bills in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, my answer would easily be Georgia safety Malaki Starks. Due to injuries and some production regression in 2024, Starks seems to be fading into the background of this class. Which should sound like music to the Bills and Bills Mafia.
Starks can play either safety position, but his ball skills and coverage ability would likely have him playing FS in Sean McDermott's defense. He also would be a solid option to play in the slot if Taron Johnson ever needs a breather or has to miss time due to injury. He was once viewed as a likely top-10 pick, and now some draft analysts are predicting that he could fall out of round one altogether. But in my opinion, if he is on the board when the Bills get on the clock, I think they should run that card in and bring Starks to Buffalo.
