The 2025 NFL Draft is just weeks away, and the mock drafts are flying. Keeping an eye on the movement of different prospects and their expected pick range is a favorite pastime for draft nuts like myself.
The Buffalo Bills find themselves in an enviably spot — the board regularly shakes out where there are talented players at direct positions of need where the Bills will find themselves selecting. In Bruce Feldman's latest NFL mock draft for The Athletic, Buffalo lands a draft prospect that much of Bills Mafia has been clamoring for over the last couple months in Michigan defensive tackle Kenneth Grant.
Defensive line is the biggest need for the Bills, even after free agency. Yes, Brandon Beane did a great job bringing in veteran pass rusher Joey Bosa on a one-year contract while adding some depth to the interior of the defensive line, but adding young talent that are cost controlled for the next four years is imperative.
Enter Kenneth Grant, a massive defensive tackle with a world of athletic ability and upside. If somehow he's available to the Bills at 30, plugging him in would do wonders to free up linebackers to make tackles, to spring Ed Oliver with Grant absorbing double teams, and to free up the pass rushers with more attention having to be paid to the interior. All around, adding a difference maker at defensive tackle would be a big win.
“He was just as impactful in our game as Graham,” a Big Ten running backs coach told Feldman. “He’s a monster. He’s big and nasty and has some pass rush to him.”
There are some concerns about his technique. Grant does lack a bit of polish, but the athleticism, ability to disrupt plays with the incredible athleticism that he has at 6-foot-4 330 lbs makes him a ball of clay that the Buffalo Bills would likely love to have at their disposal.
There aren't many players that I like more for the Bills at 30th overall than Grant if he's available. It's entirely possible he goes much higher than 30, but if he lasts to the Bills, he's a home run of a pick.
