The Buffalo Bills' general manager, Brandon Beane, has had a quiet but impactful offseason thus far. With the limited cap space the team found themselves in, Beane has expertly manipulated the situation to provide valuable assets to the team.
Whether it's been a contract restructure, re-signing, or coming to terms on an agreement with a free agent, Beane seems to have a plan. Getting Josh Allen some help on the offensive line along with a new weapon or two is sure to make the franchise quarterback happy. That, and the surprise move of the offseason by bringing back Jordan Poyer have been huge wins for the organization.
While there are many holes on the roster, some bigger than others, Beane is going to be looking to the draft to put the finishing touches on the roster. One of the biggest holes, currently, is what the team will do after Tremaine Edmund's departure. On top of that, more weapons for Josh Allen both at reciever and offensive line are areas that the team can use the draft to build. And, with another offseason, the rumor mill is back again with the prospect of taking a top running back early.
With the draft rapidly approaching, one draft insider has Buffalo making a move that could very well mean that the team is going all in for these next few seasons.
Miller highlighted where Buffalo sits currently, and what they could potentially do in the draft to make a splash: "The Bills will play the board and see who is falling, but with the No. 27 selection, it's very possible general manager Brandon Beane gets anxious and moves up for an interior offensive lineman or offensive skill player."
The ESPN NFL draft analyst discussed how with Buffalo only having six picks this year, moving up in the draft would put the future at risk. If there is a player Brandon Beane feels he has to have, it would undoubtedly put future seasons at potential risk.
One of the first players that have been making the rounds across social media is Bijan Robinson. Pairing Robinson with Allen and a running back room of James Cook and Nyheim Hines would be a nightmare matchup for opposing defenses.
The Buffalo Bills' general manager has made a few splash signings during his tenure in Buffalo and has had some incredible luck in the draft. Adversely, he has also fumbled some of the selections which makes mortgaging the future a worrisome gamble.
Let's see if the general manager, often called a wizard, has any more magic up his sleeve this offseason.
