Bills’ Josh Allen is about to put on a show against the Chiefs if history is any indication
Have faith in QB1, Josh Allen is that good, especially against the Kansas City Chiefs in his career.
The only things that are guaranteed in life are death and taxes, and also quarterback Josh Allen rising to the occasion when he takes on the Kansas City Chiefs. By no means am I guaranteeing a huge game from Allen, but looking at recent history, it’s hard not to suggest that Allen is going to bounce back in a big way, in one of the most important and exciting games of the season.
Anytime the Bills and Chiefs are on the calendar, the ultimate winners are overall NFL fans. Some of the best games in recent memory, playoffs or regular season, have been between quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Allen.
While the Chiefs have the Bills’ number in the postseason, Allen continuously puts on a show against the Chiefs, and Sunday should be no different. Two of the very best at their positions are set to face off, and Bills Mafia should like the team’s chances, especially considering how well Allen historically performs in these matchups.
While there are concerns about the passing game, Allen has put on his Superman cape on more than one occasion against the Chiefs for some of his best performances of his career.
Josh Allen has shined against the Kansas City Chiefs
Allen has taken on the Chiefs nine times. Allen is 4-5 against the Chiefs in his career, including the postseason, but wins aren’t a quarterback stat after all.
Yes, during the last playoff loss, Allen had the ball in his hands with a chance to lead his team to victory, but he fell just short. However, in his nine games against the Chiefs, Allen has been more good than bad, nearly every single time.
During the regular season, the team has faced off against the Chiefs five times in Allen’s career, in which he has thrown for 1,261 yards with 10 touchdowns and three interceptions while adding 220 rushing yards with three touchdowns.
In the postseason, things don’t change much. In four games against the Chiefs in the playoffs, he has thrown for 1,039 yards with nine touchdowns to one interception while adding 267 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
He’s averaging 23 completions for 255 yards per game and just over two passing touchdowns a game, while averaging over 50 rushing yards per game and 0.5 rushing touchdowns — an unbelievable outing time after time from the franchise quarterback.
Josh Allen is performing better through 7 weeks than he did in 2024 season
There are rumblings that Allen has taken a step back in his game, that the offense can’t get the passing game going, and the Chiefs are just too much to handle for Buffalo. If history is any indication, Allen consistently rises to the occasion, which should make for one of the best games in the NFL this season.
What’s more, if you look at Allen’s first seven games in 2024 compared to 2025, Allen is actually outperforming where he was at this point last season. While his turnovers pop out the most, he actually has the same amount of touchdowns, more completions, 0.1 more yards per attempt, and is averaging more yards per game through the first seven weeks than he did in his MVP season.
You can count out Allen if you’d like, but much like everyone wrote him off his entire life, he’s consistently proven the critics wrong. Here’s hoping that once the game ends on Sunday, we’re talking about another elite performance from the Bills’ reigning MVP.
