Josh Allen's detractors will hate that this stat proves that he's the NFL's best pure passer

There have been plenty of numbers that show just how dominant Josh Allen was not only this last season, but over the last few years. Allen finally got the respect he deserves by winning his first league MVP, but there's one stat that stands out and paints a great picture of just how meaningful he has been to the Buffalo Bills.
On all dropbacks since 2022, Josh Allen leads the league in passing EPA.
The detractors of Allen typically like to say that Allen is just a great running quarterback that lacks in the passing game, often pointing to his turnover issues from earlier in his career. However, over the last three seasons, Allen leads everybody with the highest passing EPA on all dropbacks.
In his MVP campaign, Allen took a massive step forward in his efficiency and in his ability to protect the ball. After throwing 18 interceptions in 2023, he hacked that down to only six in 2024, while throwing only one fewer touchdown than the year prior.
Last season was a big one for Allen. After parting with Stefon Diggs, who has now returned to the AFC East by joining the New England Patriots, the pressure fell on Allen to make good decision and distribute the ball without having a true No. 1 target. He took it on beautifully, embracing the "everybody eats" approach and going to whoever was open.
The Bills had 14 players catch passes last season, with 13 different players catching touchdown passes from Allen. The team will surely like to surround Allen with more weapons moving forward, but Allen has clearly demonstrated that he is in the upper echelon, and is firmly entrenched in the ongoing conversation for the league's best quarterback. The only thing missing from his resume is a Super Bowl.
Buffalo Bills are showing interest in a potential late round selection that could be exactly what they need
He could be a big addition.
