Tom Pelissero shuts down idea that the Bills' Super Bowl window is closed

Last year, the Buffalo Bills and the entirety of Buffalo battled with some of the most difficult things imaginable.
Before the season even began, a racially motivated mass shooting made national headlines. The city came together to mourn, heal, and remember those who had tragically lost their lives. All Buffalo teams, including the Bills, gathered to give back in one of the most touching moments in recent memory.
Throughout the year, more and more adversity struck. Dawson Knox lost his brother, a snowpocalypse saw more Buffalonians lose their lives, and Damar Hamlin's near-death experience and that's not even the injuries the team suffered. There were almost too many heartbreaking occurrences to count.
Allen injured his UCL, Micah Hyde was lost for the year during the Bills home-opener, Dane Jackson was taken off the field on a stretcher, and Von Miller tore his ACL. All of that to say, there were plenty of on-the-field and off-the-field situations that the team had to overcome.
With all of that being said, the team finished 13-3, one of the best records in team history with Josh Allen being thrown around in the MVP conversation for most of the season. Unfortunately, they fell flat in an abysmal loss to the Bengals.
Could the loss have been the byproduct of the team reaching its breaking point? Was there just so much resting on their shoulders above just the game of football that had them depleted? We may never know entirely, but it was another year of not winning a Super Bowl with a championship-caliber roster.
With that comes the question "Is the Bills' Super Bowl window closed?" to which Tom Pelissero, using many of the points we discussed above, gave a resounding no.
(We absolutely agree)
Pelissero was discussing if there was a higher sense of urgency for the Bills in 2023. "Here's what bothers me about the entire case that the Bills somehow were in this type of a maker break, Super Bowl or bust type of year." Pelissero continued, discussing a large amount of unforeseen and tragic circumstances throughout the year.
Pull back to last fall to the 2023 season… you're basically at the halfway point of the season. The Bills are six-and-one. They had beaten the Chiefs in Kansas City. And then they had the most remarkable run of different terrible things that happened to them. Just take a look at the things that happened. Starting at the beginning of November you have Josh Allen suffers a UCL injury among other injuries in his elbow wearing a brace for a while. He wasn't throwing the ball the same way really until you got into the playoffs. From that point forward. You had that game got moved to Detroit. That was the first of three games they played in 12 days all away from Buffalo. Von Miller tears his ACL, you have the storm on Christmas Eve and prevents them from flying out so they don't get home until Christmas morning. And then of course, the Damar handle situation in Cincinnati.
Pelissero patiently, and methodically, destroyed the narrative that the Bills' Super Bowl window is closing by using perspective, compassion, and hindsight.
The city is healing, its players are healing, and the sky is the limit. If you think the Bills Super Bowl window is closed with 17 as the signal caller, buckle up.
Josh Allen’s Super Bowl dream is sure to excite Bills Mafia
Many members of Bills Mafia often dream about Josh Allen hoisting the Lombardi Trophy after a Super Bowl win. Well, it turns out that Allen isn’t much different from Bills fans after all. The Buffalo Bills’ superstar quarterback joined The Pat McAfee Show on Thursday, revealing that he too has dreams of a Super Bowl […]
