The Buffalo Bills have been relatively quiet through the first two days of legal tampering.

More players found new homes than new players came in for Buffalo, with fullback Reggie Gilliam joining the New England Patriots, left guard David Edwards joining the New Orleans Saints, among other moves.

For those players who have joined the organization, it’s really only notable that the Bills have brought on former Atlanta Falcons cornerback Dee Alford to the mix.

That’s not to say that Buffalo can’t make a few splashes here and there, especially after freeing up some much-needed cap space by restructuring quarterback Josh Allen’s contract. With day three underway, let’s take a look at the best remaining free agent targets for the Bills.

WR Darnell Mooney

Get Allen more weapons, that’s what I’ve been pounding the table for this offseason. It was clear after the divisional round loss to the Denver Broncos in the playoffs that Allen needs more help and can’t be relied upon to constantly don his Superman cape and will the team to victory.

Mooney may not be the splashiest of players, but what we’re talking about here is the No. 3 or No. 4 option in the offense, and Mooney fits that bill perfectly. Mooney is a speedy wide receiver who was released for cap relief. He has solid size to play on the outside or in the slot and uses his speed to make plays downfield, a dream matchup with Allen in this offense.

He’s averaged over 13 yards per catch in the past three seasons and is only 28 with a chance to play the best football of his career on this contract. He could be the most underrated signing this offseason.

LB Germaine Pratt

The Buffalo Bills need some linebackers, and I am devastated that Leo Chenal is off the board. Chenal fit the bill for everything Buffalo was looking for in a linebacker, and it stinks that Buffalo didn’t bite on the contract details that arose once Chenal was selected.

That doesn’t mean that there aren’t good options out there, and Germaine Pratt would slot in nicely for defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard’s new defensive scheme in Buffalo.

He’s capable of stepping onto the line as a sam linebacker and does not rely on his athleticism to destroy blocks, using his size and positional leverage to stay clean during the rush. The seven-year veteran has played most of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals before spending one season with both the Las Vegas Raiders and Indianapolis Colts, both in 2025. He played in 16 games, totalling 10 passes defensed, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and 126 combined tackles.

S Jaylinn Hawkins

Hawkins appeared on my top five free agents list that the Bills should target heading into day two of free agency, and he’s still there for the taking. Buffalo is looking to find a starter to pair alongside safety Cole Bishop, and Hawkins could fill that role perfectly.

Hawkins was considered a free agent steal for the New England Patriots and was a key leader for their secondary. He handled most of the communication on the backend and didn’t allow much in coverage, all while being an effective run defender. Buffalo was nearly dead last in terms of yards per game allowed to the running back, and bringing in Hawkins would surely help that.

He’s a veteran presence who could immediately make a huge impact for Buffalo.

EDGE Bradley Chubb

Don’t freak out, I know how Bills Mafia feels for the most part about Chubb, but the Bills need bodies, and Chubb has played much better than folks give him credit for. He’d be a cheaper veteran option that could be ideal for scheme fits. The former captain has a high motor and is a dominant run defender who sets a strong edge with solid leverage.

Chubb was released by the Miami Dolphins ahead of free agency and should absolutely be on the list of free agents that Brandon Beane is targeting. You win in the trenches, and Buffalo needs some help beefing up their trenches. He’s coming off a season where he played in 17 games and had two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, eight and a half sacks, and 47 combined tackles.

IDL Sebastian Joseph-Day

Joseph-Day was another player on our free agents to watch for Buffalo heading into day two, and he made it to day three without any teams picking him up. Again, Buffalo needs help in the trenches, and Joseph-Day would provide exactly that.

Buffalo could use a steady veteran option for the interior of the defensive line, and he was as reliable as ever even after turning 30. He had two sacks, 41 tackles, six tackles for loss, and six QB hits during the 2025 season, proving that he has plenty of gas left in the tank. |

The Bills could use him as they did with Von Miller, exclusively coming in on third-down packages for pass rush purposes, or they could use him on early downs with his strong balance of size and athleticism. Yes, he plays a different position than Miller did, but you understand what I’m getting at.

It’s whatever Buffalo wants, either a nice rotational player or a serviceable starter. Either way, Beane needs to go out and get him.
