The Chicago Bears just made some key roster moves leading up to Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals and it's news that quarterback Caleb Williams is going to love to hear.

Heading into Sunday's game, the left side of the Bears offensive line looked to be in rough shape after the team ruled out left tackles Braxton Jones and Kiran Amegadjie and listed left guard Teven Jenkins as questionable.

On Saturday, the Bears added some reinforcements to the game day roster by activating tackle Larry Borom off the injured reserve and elevating guard Jake Curhan from the practice squad.

On Friday, Bears head coach Matt Eberflus had great things to say about Borom, who was a full participant in each day of practice this week.

"Larry's been working in there. We feel really good about that" Eberflus said. "We want to make sure we're not moving multiple spots."

Borom started 23 games over the last three seasons for the Bears. In 2023, he allowed three sacks and 25 total pressures on 225 pass blocking snaps.

While Borom was activated, the team did not activate interior offensive lineman Ryan Bates from the injured reserve, hence why Curhan was elevated. The team opened Bates' 21-day practice window to return earlier this week.

If Jenkins can't suit up on Sunday due to his knee injury, Curhan will likely be the next man up over Nate Davis. The previous backup option at the position, Bill Murray, was placed on the injured reserve on Monday with a pectoral injury suffered in Week 8.

Curhan will be making his debut with the Bears after signing with the team during the offseason. Curhan reunited with offensive coordinator Shane Waldron after starting four games under him with the Seattle Seahawks in 2023. In those four starts, Curhan allowed three sacks and 22 total pressures.

Along with Curhan, the Bears also elevated rookie cornerback Reddy Steward from the practice squad. The undrafted rookie will be making his regular season debut. In his last game during the preseason, Steward had two interceptions, one of which returned for a touchdown, against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Cornerback is another position the Bears might be thin at depending on the status of slot cornerback Kyler Gordon. Gordon was a limited participant during Friday's practice with a hamstring injury and was listed as questionable for Sunday's game.
