With the first nine weeks of the season officially behind us, we have reached the midpoint of the 2023 season.

With nine more weeks to go in the regular season, and eight more games remaining on the schedule for the Chicago Bears, a lot can still happen throughout the rest of the season.

As it stands, the Bears have two of the top three selections in the 2024 NFL Draft, which is exactly where the team would like to be in terms of the outcome for this season. However, here are three more major bold predictions on the field that could prove to come true over the second-half of the season.

Bold Prediction #1: DJ Moore has 10 TD for the first time in his career

Oct 1, 2023; Chicago, Illinois, USA; Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore (2) talks with quarterback Justin Fields (1) before a game against the Denver Broncos at Soldier Field.

DJ Moore has already had a tremendous start to his tenure in Chicago after joining the team back in the spring. Through the first nine games of the season, Moore has totaled 47 receptions, 735 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns with the Bears.

Moore is currently on pace to easily clear his season-high in receiving yards in a season, which he set for himself in 2020 when he totaled 1,193 yards. In fact, Moore could potentially clear his 2022 season total of 888 yards within his next two games.

Through nine weeks, Moore has already recorded the second-highest touchdown total in a season in his career. Last season, Moore had a career-high 7 receiving touchdowns in 17 games. All 5 of Moore's touchdowns in 2023 came in a three game span with quarterback Justin Fields under center.

Moore has yet to catch a touchdown since Fields suffered a thumb injury in Week 6, while catching passes from undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent. With Fields set to return as the starter, Moore's production should heat back up. My bold prediction is that Moore will add at least 5 more touchdowns, bringing his season total to double digits.

Bold Prediction #2: Jaylon Johnson adds 2 more INT on defense

Oct 22, 2023; Chicago, Illinois, USA; Chicago Bears defensive back Jaylon Johnson (33) steps in front of Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams (17) to intercept a pass before returning the ball for a touchdown in the fourth quarter at Soldier Field.

When the Bears decided not to follow through with trading away cornerback Jaylon Johnson at the deadline, they have him two options. Prove he's worth the money he's asking for or he'll be on another team next season.

The Bears front office won't be backing down from what they feel Johnson is worth on a long-term deal unless he proves it to them. Johnson sent a strong first message to the team in Week 7 when he recorded two interceptions and returned one for a touchdown in the team's win over the Las Vegas Raiders. However, the big game didn't seem to be enough.

Johnson will need to put together some more quality performances over the final eight games to solidify his future in Chicago. With newly acquired defensive lineman Montez Sweat rushing the passer, Johnson's job will get a lot easier. I predict Johnson will snag two more interceptions before the season ends, bringing his total to 4 on the year. And as a reminder, Johnson only had 1 career interception entering the season.

Bold Prediction #3: Matt Eberflus survives till the end of the season

Sep 17, 2023; Tampa, Florida, USA; Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus looks on during the second half against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium.

This is one bold prediction Bears fans won't want to hear about, but it's one that makes the most sense for the team going forward through the rest of the season.

Simply put, head coach Matt Eberflus gives the Bears the best opportunity to not win games, thus securing a top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Bears fans all over social media have been calling for Eberflus' head for weeks now, but I believe the front office should let Eberflus ride out the season.

Compared to other head coaches around the league who will be, or have already been, fired this season, Eberflus hasn't created any locker room drama worthy of an early exit. In fact, it's been the opposite. The Bears locker room seems like a tight group over the past few weeks despite the continued disappointment. Eberflus is perfectly commanding the tank toward ensuring a top draft pick lands in Chicago.
