What a win, what a moment for the Chicago Bears after pulling off one of the most improbable comebacks you’ll ever see in the National Football League against the Green Bay Packers on Saturday.

A game in which the Bears had no business winning, but in the NFL it’s all about belief and playing for all 60 minutes, and sometimes a little bit extra time like we just saw. Chicago certainly has that kind of belief in themselves that never wavered for a single second.

“We know who we are,” Bears quarterback Caleb Williams said after the game. “I’ve said it multiple times. We’re a team that’s going to fight till the end. There was too much time on the clock.”

Cardiac Bears has a whole new meaning after the Week 16 comeback

The Bears earned the moniker “Cardiac Bears” for the way this team has won games on the final play all season long going back to the last minute wins against the Raiders, Commanders, Bengals, Giants, and Vikings. Now that nickname has a whole new meaning after this game.

It was a disappointing start for the Bears, scoring just six points in the first three quarters and nothing seeming to be going the team’s way all night long. Chicago trailed 16-6 with just over five minutes in the fourth quarter and then magic started to sprinkle onto Soldier Field.

The Bears were able to cut the lead to one possession, recover the onside attempt, and then score a game-tying touchdown to force overtime in a situation eerily similar to the game-losing interception the team had the last time they faced off against the Packers in Week 14.

And that wasn’t even the end of the excitement. In extras, Green Bay started with the ball but a botched snap on fourth down gave the ball back to Chicago with all of the momentum on their side and head coach Ben Johnson dialed up the kill shot four plays into the drive with Williams hitting wide receiver DJ Moore on a 46-yard walk off touchdown.

“Helluva job by everybody to be able to make this play happen,” Williams added. “Coaches, players, everybody in the building.”

It was an improbable win that defines an improbable season for the Chicago Bears, who improve to 11-4 on the season will a firm hold of the NFC North and inching closer and closer to punching their ticket to the postseason.
