The Chicago Bears loss in Week 11 to the Green Bay Packers will be a tough pill to swallow, but the loss revealed one key silver lining.

The Bears absolutely made the right decision to part ways with Shane Waldron and promote Thomas Brown as the new offensive coordinator.

Even though it wasn't the final outcome the Bears were hoping for, it was a much better outing from the offense and rookie quarterback Caleb Williams and the kind of energy you'd like to see from everyone involved.

The Bears finished the game with more points than their previous two games combined while playing with a clean and balanced operation throughout. The unit went 9-16 on third down, which was more conversions than the previous two games combined as well.

As for Williams, the team's rookie quarterback looked a lot more confident running the offense and working the pocket, which was a great sign going forward this season.

After the game, Williams revealed some of the key differences he noticed on Sunday playing under his new coordinator and play-caller.

"I think us being in control, Thomas being in control," Williams said. "Just, you know, getting calls in super fast. As soon as the play happened, Thomas was right on the headset, giving me the play. And then from there, I think he just strung strong plays together pretty well, and formations and motions and everything looking the same…

"I think it started early on this week when Thomas got the job. He went up in front of everybody and he talked about how this was going to be, and it was going to be a battle this week. But, when we're out there, we're going to fight, and we're going to execute, we're going to have that mindset of go out there and kick some tail."

The Bears' offense still had some things you'd like to see cleaned up, including the four offensive penalties, two of which were illegal motions that backed the offense up early in the game. But those are just small, easy, things for Brown to learn from.

Overall, the play-calling looked a lot more simple and the plays themselves came in at a much faster pace with Brown in the booth on the headset.

As a result, the unit was able to play a lot more confidently on the field and execute when they needed to execute. The best example of that was the decisions to go for and convert on three different fourth down attempts.

"Coach kept us on the field a few times where he thought he was going to bring out the you know the kicking unit, and that's just the belief in us," Williams added. "That's belief in the play-caller, and it showed up today."

Again, the loss sucks at the end of the day. But the improvement of the offense under Brown is undeniable and will only get better moving forward.
