Bears draft Mooney fields receiver

CHICAGO – Stop me if you've heard this already: The Bears need to find Justin Fields as much as help as they can and he needs all the help he can get at receiver.

By now, the dead horse has been beaten into the ground. But that doesn't make the topic any less true. The Bears do need to find answers to their offensive woes through the draft.

Count Darnell Mooney as someone who thinks the Bears need to find more weapons when they first pick in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

"Yea, for sure. I would love for some guys to come in here," Mooney said when asked if he and Fields hope the Bears draft a receiver with one of their second-round picks. "I mean, I would love to get one of those guys to come in here and give us a spark. And just create and become more dangerous. …

"I like a lot of the guys. There are a lot of receivers in this class that are extremely good [and] one of those guys will come in and give us a spark, for sure."

It's almost a lock for the Bears to draft a receiver at No. 39 or No. 48, but what if there aren't worth taking at that point? The Bears could still draft an offensive lineman or even a tight end to help Fields out.

Either way, there are plenty of options that help find weapons for Fields. But the Bears would be wise to listen to their franchise quarterback and No. 1 receiver, at the end of the day.
