The Chicago Bears are getting set to play in their first game under interim head coach Thomas Brown on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers but Brown might be coaching the team without one of his top weapons.

Wide receiver DJ Moore was added to the injury report this week with a quad injury and wasn't able to practice until the end of the week.

On Friday, Moore was listed as a limited participant and will be questionable for Sunday's matchup against the 49ers.

Moore had a massive game against the Lions on Thanksgiving last Thursday, hauling in eight of his 16 targets for 97 yards and a touchdown. Moore's been a trooper all season when it comes to dealing with injuries and has yet to miss a game all season. But, the team's previous game was a physical one, and Moore revealed he injured his quad while running a wheel route early in the game. Moore was only off the field for two total offensive snaps.

While speaking with the media after Friday's practice, Moore seemed to be optimistic about his status on Sunday saying "I play through everything." That's certainly been the case throughout his entire career considering he's only missed two games, one due to COVID, in seven seasons.

His progression throughout the rest of the weekend and into Sunday will be important to monitor. Fellow wide receiver Keenan Allen was also listed on the injury report this week with an ankle injury but was bumped up to full participation on Thursday and will not have an injury designation.

If Moore is forced to miss his first game of the season, all eyes will be on Allen and rookie wide receiver Rome Odunze to fill the void in the passing game. At the position, the Bears also added a big-bodied target in Collin Johnson to the 53-man roster from the practice squad two weeks ago.

As for the rest of the team's injury report following Friday's practice, running back D'Andre Swift will also be questionable for Sunday's game. Swift was held out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday but returned as a limited participant on Friday. He's dealing with a quad injury as well.

Swift's status will be very important to monitor considering backup running back Roschon Johnson has already been ruled out for Sunday due to a concussion suffered in Week 13. If Swift can't go, the backfield will be led by Travis Homer with Darrynton Evans or Demetric Felton potentially getting elevated from the practice squad.

Along with Johnson, the Bears also ruled out safety Elijah Hicks (ankle) and offensive lineman Ryan Bates (concussion). They will both miss their third straight game.
