The Pro Day circuit continues around the country with less than one month until the 2025 NFL Draft begins in Green Bay on April 24th.
Last week, the Chicago Bears sent a strong presence to Ann Arbor led by head coach Ben Johnson and Dennis Allen to scout top prospects performing during Michigan's Pro Day.
On Tuesday, the Bears had another notable scouting party down south led by general manager Ryan Poles and running backs coach Eric Bieniemy at the Texas Pro Day.
Just like the Wolverines, the Longhorns are loaded with top prospects, including multiple potential first-round options. Prospects such as wide receiver Matthew Golden, left tackle Kelvin Banks, wide receiver Isaiah Bond, running back Jaydon Blue, tight end Gunnar Helm, defensive lineman Alfred Collins, and safety Andrew Mukuba could all easily be on the team's radar.
One prospect in particular seems to have caught the Bears eye and he would bring some serious speed to Ben Johnson's offense. And it seems like the Bears are willing to have a closer look.
According to CJ Vogel on X, the Bears are setting up a 30-visit with Bond, the Longhorns speedster receiver, after his performance at the Pro Day. The Atlanta Falcons, Green Bay Packers, and Los Angeles Rams are other teams showing 30-visit interest. The Buffalo Bills are also reportedly setting up their own private visit.
According to The Athletic's Dane Brugler, Bond posted a 4.35 40-yard-dash time during Tuesday's Pro Day, a notable difference compared to his 4.39 time recorded during the 2025 Combine.
Based on this updated time, Bond's stock is on the rise. Previously, Bond looked destined to be a second-round pick but with the heavy interest from the Bills, late first-round could be a possibility. Regardless, the Bears hold the 39th and 41st picks in the second-round and the 72nd pick in the third-round.
Ben Johnson would love to add this kind of speed to the offense. He already went out to add Devin Duvernay to the WR room with DJ Moore and Rome Odunze. Bond's speed is a different element to have in the room in terms of a downfield threat.
But, Bond's speed might not be the only one to focus on out of this Pro Day. Keep an eye on any news regarding Blue as well after seeing Bieniemy watching in attendance.
Blue recorded a 4.28 as his fastest time on the 40-yard-dash, according to ESPN's Jordan Reid. His Combine speed was recorded at 4.38 previously. This solidifies the Longhorn tailback as one of the fastest players in the entire class.
The Bears are starting to look into some speed backs as we get closer to the draft and Blue might be one Bieniemy returns to Chicago talking about after what he saw on the field this week. Regardless, all eyes were on the speed factor on Tuesday.
