No one wants to turn the page faster after Week 9 than the Chicago Bears.
After an embarrassing 5 turnover performance in their 24-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints, the Bears and their fanbase now have more than one thing to look forward to in their next game.
The Bears are currently favored to win against the Carolina Panthers in Week 10, in what will be a win-win matchup no matter what for Chicago. According to DraftKings, the opening odds for Week 10 listed the as Bears -2.5 at home on Thursday night.
The game will be the Bears third primetime slot of the season, and their second in the last three weeks. However, this time, there's no way the Bears can possibly come out as losers, even if they do in fact lose.
After trading their number one overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft to the Panthers, the Bears received the Panthers 2024 first-round pick as part of the deal. The Panthers currently sit at 1-7 on the season following their loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
As it stands, here's the current look at the top five picks in the NFL Draft if the season ended today, according to Tankathon.
1. Arizona Cardinals (1-8)
2. Chicago Bears via CAR (1-7)
3. Chicago Bears (2-7)
4. New York Giants (2-7)
5. New England Patriots (2-7)
So you can see, no matter what happens on Thursday night, the Bears projected draft capital will only get better. As for the game itself, the Bears defense will look to get the better of rookie quarterback Bryce Young, whom the Panthers selected with the Bears former number one overall pick in April.
For the Bears side, head coach Matt Eberflus said after the game on Sunday that he will play it day-by-day in terms of who will start for the team at quarterback between Justin Fields and Tyson Bagent on Thursday. Fields returned to practice late this week and continues to work his way back from a thumb injury suffered in Week 6 against the Minnesota Vikings.
The Tyson Bagent experience is unfortunately over in Chicago
It’s time to return to the starter
