Justin Fields is considered the future of the franchise in Chicago, but he needs a lot more help before he can reach his full potential.

The Bears have a chance to get him said help -and a decent amount of it- in this year's draft. Especially at receiver. Many draft experts in the business have lauded this year's receiver class as not just talented, but deep. Which really comes in handy for the Bears, who don't have a first-round pick.

But, the Bears do have two second-rounders and both selections are within nine picks of each other. Meaning, they have a great chance to land some offensive talent in the second round.

According to former NFL scout and NFL.com draft expert Bucky Brooks, the Bears should double-up at the receiver position with the 39th and 48th picks in the second round.

"I think they're a team that needs to double-up when it comes to the wide receivers, based on what they have," Brooks said on the most recent episode of Daniel Jeremiah's Move The Sticks podcast. "I think they need to give him [Fields] someone that is solid. You talk about Christian Watson, who certainly could be there in the second round. And then you come back and you roll the dice on a George Pickens, who has big-play ability, but was coming off the knee, so we didn't fully get a chance to see it. But make no mistake, he has a lot of talent. He's a very talented player throughout his time at Georgia."

Pickens and Watson would be great selections for the Bears and Fields. Both players bring insane amounts of playmaking ability and athleticism, which is something the Bears need badly on both offense and in the receivers room. Selecting both players also give the Bears a nice core on offense for the next three seasons, assuming everything works out with Fields.

The one objection to doubling up at the receiver position is the Bears need help at a lot more positions than just receiver and they could address one of those positions in the second round of the draft. Positions like tackle, guard, cornerback, safety, and even EDGE and defensive line could all use reinforcements.

But, this franchise is only going as far as Fields can take them and Matt Eberflus and Ryan Poles need to quickly figure out if Fields is the franchise quarterback he appears to be.

Adding two playmaking receivers in the second round will certainly help them do just that.
