The 2024 free agency frenzy is finally here and the Chicago Bears have already been off to a hot start in the action this offseason. The frenzy officially begins with the tampering period that starts on Monday, March 11th at 12 PM EST. Actual signings can begin to take place and become official on Wednesday, March 13th at 4 PM EST.
The Bears entered into the start of free agency with plenty of cap space to work with in terms of landing some notable players to fill some major roles throughout the roster.

Notes On Notable Signings:
The Bears first splash of the off-season come from extending one of their own in Pro Bowl cornerback Jaylon Johnson. Landing Johnson on a long-term deal was the upmost priority for the Bears' front office heading into the offseason and the two sides worked together to agree to a deal that allows Johnson to remain in Chicago.
Chicago's second big splash came from signing former All-Pro safety Kevin Byard to a two-year contract to replace Eddie Jackson in the secondary. Byard's veteran leadership on defense was viewed as a major selling point to help guide the young players in the secondary already in place.
General manager Ryan Poles' biggest deal of the off-season was the trade to land six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Keenan Allen from the Los Angeles Chargers. The Bears came away with an absolute steal, sending away only one of their two fourth-round selections, and now have a top-tier play-maker to pair with DJ Moore on offense.
The Bears struck quick once the legal tampering period began agreeing to terms on a 3-year deal with free agent running back D'Andre Swift. Swift is coming off a career year on the ground during his first season with Philadelphia and is the second former Eagles' player the Bears have pounced on.
Darnell Mooney departs and reunites with former Bears general manager Ryan Pace who drafted Mooney in the fifth-round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Mooney will also join forces with Falcons' new starting quarterback and former division rival Kirk Cousins.
The trade between the Bears and Bills netted Chicago a much-needed versatile depth piece on the offensive line in Ryan Bates. Bates will have the opportunity to compete for the starting job at center heading into next season. More depth to the offensive line was added on Wednesday in Matt Pryor, with experience at 4 different positions.
