The Chicago Bears are all but ready for their Monday night meeting against the Minnesota Vikings but the team is still awaiting one critical piece of information.

The Vikings have yet to activate All-Pro wide receiver Justin Jefferson for tonight's game. Jefferson is officially listed as questionable for the game but according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, he is not expected to play.

Regardless, the Bears will need to be prepared for anything, one way or another, in terms of defending the Vikings offense.

"We're adjusting whether Jefferson is in or not," Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said on Saturday. "Certainly that didn't happen last time, but we have a contingency plan for that if he is. But we'll see where it is. He's certainly a great player, one of the best receivers in the business, and we've worked on if he is or if he isn't. So, we'll be ready."

Despite the new reports, it seems that Eberflus will likely keep playing it safe in terms of facing Jefferson. The Vikings will have until 3:00pm to officially make a decision regarding their star wide receiver.

"I think you just have to prepare that he's gonna be in there," Eberflus added. "I really do. I just think you have to prepare that he's in there and then if he's not, you just adjust accordingly."

It should be considered unlikely for Jefferson to suit up on Monday despite having the added day to recover from his hamstring injury. Jefferson has missed each of the Vikings last six games, however, the team has still been contending for a playoff spot.

Prior to his injury, Jefferson averaged 114.2 receiving yards per game and had three receiving touchdowns during the first five weeks of the season. Tight end T.J. Hockenson has filled the void in the Vikings passing attack, averaging 80.3 receiving yards per game with two touchdowns since Jefferson went down.

The Vikings offense as a whole will look entirely different from the unit the Bears faced back in Week 6. For starters, the team has since been relying on backup quarterback Joshua Dobbs, whom they acquired at the trade deadline, after losing starting quarterback Kirk Cousins with a season ending injury.

Dobbs has played in each of the last three games (two starts) for the Vikings and has led the team to 20+ points scored in each. The Vikings rushing attack has seen a major boost since Dobbs joined the team rushing for 125+ in all three games with him at the helm along with four rushing touchdowns.

The Vikings rushed for just 46 yards in their Week 6 win in Chicago and averaged 2.23 rushing yards per carry. The Bears allowed 100+ rushing yards last week against the Detroit Lions for the first time since Week 3. The Bears will enter into Monday's matchup allowing just 79.5 rushing yards per game and only six rushing touchdowns.

Rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison will be another factor for the Bears to game plan against no matter what the decision is with Jefferson. Addison has caught 48 passes for 647 yards and seven touchdowns over the course of his rookie campaign.

Speedster K.J. Osborn will also be involved in the Vikings passing attack. Osborn averaged 12 yards per reception on four catches back in Week 6 and is always a threat to take the top off the defense.

The Bears defense is sure to have their hands full against the offense led by Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell. Meanwhile, the Bears will be looking to earn their first ever divisional victory in the Eberflus Era.
