The Chicago Bears didn't have much to play for in Week 18 against the Green Bay Packers outside of pride and the hopes of ending a 10-game losing streak before heading into the offseason.
Even still, the Bears are playing hard in Lambeau, especially on the defensive side of the ball and a huge play on special teams that gave the team an early lead.
We even got a hilarious moment that will likely be talked about later tonight when this game comes to a close.
In the final moments of the opening quarter, Packers' wide receiver Jayden Reed fumbled the ball after Bears' Pro Bowl cornerback Jaylon Johnson had his own version of the famous "Peanut Punch" to knock the ball free.
The ball was then recovered by safety Jonathan Owens and returned 13 yards to the 21-yard line. It was a big play for Owens, who is making his return to Green Bay for the first time since signing with the Bears in 2024.
Owens started 11 games for the Packers in 2023 but was not re-signed by the team after last season. The Bears brought him in to Chicago as a depth piece, but he's been a consistent player for the defense playing in all 17 games this season.
Signing Owens was also a package deal for the Bears. By signing Owens, the team gained a high-profile fan on the sidelines in Owens' wife Simone Biles, an 11-time Olympic gold medalist. Biles is easily considered one of the best Olympians of all time but what she saw after Owens' big play on Sunday might leave her shaking her head.
While celebrating the turnover, Owens raced to the back of the endzone and attempted to do the Packers famous celebration, the Lambeau Leap, which involves jumping into the stands… and it wasn't great. Actually, it might have been the worst Lambeau Leap I've ever seen.
To make things worse for Owens, later in the game, Packers' running back Josh Jacobs executed a perfect Lambeau Leap of his own after scoring a touchdown. Jacobs has 13 pounds on Owens by the way.
Owens will need to practice and take some notes from his wife before he comes back to Lambeau Field again.
