The Chicago Bears have released the first injury report for Week 2 following Wednesday's practice and the list included two prominent offensive weapons.

The first was rookie Rome Odunze, who suffered a knee injury at the end of Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans, and the second was veteran Keenan Allen, who is still dealing with a lingering heel injury.

While neither player participated during the team's first day of practice this week, head coach Matt Eberflus did give some positive updates on the two weapons.

When discussing the extent of Odunze's injury, Eberflus was a lot more optimistic compared to the week-to-week timetable that was initially reported earlier this week and how the injury looked on the field.

"Rome will still be day-to-day," Eberflus said. "When you have somebody fall on your leg like that, and you have that type of deal, it's always fortunate that it's not that serious. And we're very lucky that way, very fortunate."

Odunze himself stated that he felt a "pop" in his knee during the play where he was injured on Sunday. The rookie receiver was dress for practice on Wednesday but only planned to do light conditioning on the side, according to Jason Lieser.

As for Allen, the veteran play-maker went into Week 1 dealing with the same injury but was able to play all four quarters, even though he had to briefly leave the field and enter the medical tent during the game. With the injury still bothering him, the team shut him down on Wednesday with hopes to ramp him up throughout the week.

"I think it's just about rest, you know, and then hopefully the rest helps," Eberflus added. "I can't say it definitively right now, but I know that right now, they're telling me he's going to rest this day and we're going to see where he is going to feel tomorrow, to be able to do some practice."

Both of these updates are definitely good news considering how things could have gone for both players. As for the rest of Wednesday's report, here's how things looked.

Along with the two injured receivers, defensive end DeMarcus Walker also did not practice on Wednesday with a foot injury. Walker was one of the best defenders for the Bears in Week 1 after recording five pressures.

Zacch Pickens, who missed the first game of the season with a groin injury, was listed as limited with the same injury. With Pickens inactive, the Bears called up Byron Cowart off the practice squad in Week 1.

Offensive linemen Kiran Amegadje (quad) and Ryan Bates (shoulder/elbow) were both listed as limited as well. Bates rotated in at right guard with Nate Davis during the season opener and Eberflus insinuated the team will plan to do the same thing in Week 2 while the two continue ramping back up.

Lastly, full back Khari Blasingame popped up on the injury report on Wednesday with a hand/knee injury. He was listed as limited in practice.
