There’s one game remaining in the 2025-26 NFL season with the Seattle Seahawks set to face off against the New England Patriots on Feb. 8 in Super Bowl LX.

The Chicago Bears were met with an unfortunate reality after losing in the NFC’s Divisional Round but a few Bears players will still be in action this upcoming week in the Pro Bowl.

Chicago initially had three players selected to the Pro Bowl in safety Kevin Byard, left guard Joe Thuney, and center Drew Dalman. With less than a week to go until those three head over to San Francisco, another member of the Bears roster will be joining them.

Bears CB Nahshon Wright named a replacement for NFC Pro Bowl roster

On Monday morning, it was announced the Bears cornerback Nahshon Wright will be joining his three teammates on the NFC Pro Bowl roster as a replacement for Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Quinyon Mitchell, following a breakout season in Chicago.

During the fan voting period, Wright finished with the most votes among all cornerbacks in the entire league but was snubbed from the initial roster due to player and coaching votes. It was an egregious mistake leaving off the player who ranked first in the NFL in takeaways and second in interceptions. In November, Wright was even named as the NFC’s Defensive Player of the Month.

“He’s had a great year,” Byard said of Wright when the initial Pro Bowl roster was revealed. “Obviously, he’s disappointed but at the end of the day, we have bigger and better things that we can still accomplish. That’s what we’re focused on.”

Byard wasn’t the only one to feel that way. Green Bay Packers star pas rusher Micah Parsons even went out of his way on social media in defense of the Bears defensive back after being snubbed.

But now, all can be forgiven now that Wright is officially headed to San Francisco with his teammates.

“I’ve been excited all day,” Wright said, via ChicagoBears.com. “My fiancée and I were getting ready to go eat with my kids. When we got to the restaurant, I couldn’t even eat. I’m super excited.”

The Pro Bowl Games will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 3 with coverage on ESPN starting at 5:30 p.m. (CT). After the Pro Bowl, Wright will become an unrestricted free agent and one of the tough decisions the Bears will have to evaluate over the next few weeks.
