Top quarterback prospect raves about the Bears at NFL Combine
The Chicago Bears received high praise from one of the draft’s most coveted prospects.
The Chicago Bears received high praise from one of the most revered draft prospects in the Class of 2023.
Chicago has been doing its due diligence at NFL’s Scouting combine. The Bears have held meetings with some of the biggest names in college football but one player is being held on the highest pedestal: Alabama QB Bryce Young.
The Bears had the pleasure in meeting with Young as the team continues to put together its plan for what to do with the No. 1 overall selection. While Bears GM Ryan Poles has made it clear that Justin Fields is the team’s quarterback moving forward, conversing with top prospects has its perks.
After their meeting, Young spoke on how impressed he was with Chicago.
"It was a great room to be a part of. We were able to talk ball," Young said. "It was a great staff. It was an honor. There was a lot of knowledge, a lot of wisdom in that room. For me to be able to pick their brain to learn so much was great."
Bears fans have begun to form their opinions on head coach Matt Ebeflus along with Poles, but it’s nice to hear a third party rave about the team’s top minds.
The allure of playing in Chicago clearly still exists, even after a tumultuous 2022 campaign.
Whether he knows it or not, the Bears, who can trade the first pick to the highest bidder, control Young’s future. So it’s a wise move to cozy up to Chicago’s staff down at the NFL’s most important networking event of the year.
