Bears' rival pinpoints why Justin Fields will take a leap in 2022

CHICAGO – It's probably safe to say the Bears and their fans don't give a single damn about what anyone involved with any other team in the NFC North has to say.
Or anyone who was once involved, for that matter.
But, the Bears -and their fans- are probably going to like what ex-Packer James Jones recently said about Justin Fields.
Jones appeared on the most recent episode of NFL Network's Total Access to talk the upcoming season and was asked about his thoughts on whether or not Fields takes a leap in Year 2.
"Absolutely," said Jones. "I mean, coach Luke [Getsy] came over from the Green Bay Packers, who I believe knows how to get the best out of players. Aaron Rodgers loved this guy…. I think you'll see him [Fields] getting out of the pocket a lot, making some throws down the field…. What coach Luke likes to do is get the ball into your playmakers' hands.
"You do not have to think a lot. They're going to make it easier on you [to] get the ball into your playmakers' hands and let them make some plays. And when it does break down – you be you – and be special. Make some plays, pick up some first downs, extend the play, make some plays outside the pocket."
Granted, Jones' analysis is rooted in green and gold, but at the same time, Jones is one of NFL Network's better analysts, so his words do carry a bit of weight, at the end of the day.
Regardless, optimism remains throughout the league when it comes to Fields and his future prospects, which should be the case. Fields was in a terrible situation last year and 2022 represents a chance to learn and grow under Getsy in an efficient offense.
