The Chicago Bears have announced three roster moves leading up to Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints in Week 9.

The Bears have officially activated left tackle Braxton Jones from the injured reserve, elevated linebacker Micah Baskerville from the practice squad, and waived offensive lineman Doug Kramer Jr.

Jones was a full participant during Friday's practice and was officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game with a neck injury. Jones was placed on the injured reserve after Week 2's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

If Jones is able to start at left tackle on Sunday, the Bears will have their ideal starting five up-front with Jones at left tackle, Cody Whitehair at left guard, Lucas Patrick at center, Teven Jenkins at right guard, and Darnell Wright at right guard.

This could be major news for the Bears in terms of protecting their quarterback on Sunday, whether it'll be rookie Tyson Bagent or Justin Fields (who is currently listed as doubtful). Jones started every game, and played every offensive snap, during his rookie season in 2022.

Linebacker Micah Baskerville will be getting his first NFL opportunity on Sunday after being elevated to the game day roster. The Bears are lacking at the position after ruling out starting linebacker Tremaine Edmunds on Friday.

The undrafted rookie out of LSU will likely be utilized on special teams if anything barring any more unexpected injuries at the position.

Kramer Jr. is a possible re-addition to the practice squad if he clears waivers. The Bears currently have nine offensive linemen on the active roster and needed to open up a roster spot for Jones to return.
