The Chicago Bears won the first preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs, 19-14, and quickly found themselves up, 10-0, against the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night.

Justin Fields and the starters were able to squeeze three points out of the Bears' first offensive drive of the game and then backup quarterback Trevor Siemian led the Bears to six points a couple of drives later to make it a 10-0 game after Cairo Santos' extra point went through the uprights.

Later on the in the second quarter, the Bears were driving in search of more points, but faced a 3rd and 8 from their own 33. Offensive coordinator Luke Getsy called a pass play, naturally, and Siemian was pressured up the middle. He let the ball go in what was easily considered a desperation heave to wide receiver Isaiah Coulter, but it was ruled incomplete on the right sideline.

But, a slow-motion replay showed the pass to actually be completed. It turned out to be an incredible play. Especially when considering the circumstances.

The problem is Matt Eberflus never challenged the play.

It makes zero sense to not challenge this play. Even if it's preseason. The only reason that would've made sense would've been Eberflus not wanting Siemian and co. to have extra snaps. But, they were in on the very next offensive drive for the Bears.

It was a bad decision to not challenge the play. A very bad one.

Hopefully Eberflus doesn't make this same type of decision when games matter. Fortunately, it's only preseason and nothing counts, right now.
