The Bears have signed Sweat to a four-year, $98 million deal that is worth up to $105 million. That contract jumps Maxx Crosby and makes Sweat the fourth highest paid defensive end in the NFL. $73 million of that 105 million is guaranteed as well. Sweat flat out got paid with this deal.
Sweat has yet to play a game for the Bears. He's expected to make his debut on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. We'll see how things go from there. Until then,. Sweat can go count his money and find himself a very nice house in the Chicago area.
The Bears next move has to be signing cornerback Jaylon Johnson to an extension. You have to wonder how he feels about the Bears signing a guy that's never played for them to extension before him.
