The Chicago Bears are getting things solidified with less than a month before the 2024 NFL Draft and starting to wrap things up with their 30 visits.
This week will be another big week for the Bears in terms of getting their final impressions on some of the top prospects in the class before making their decisions.
Quarterback Caleb Williams, at this point, should be considered a lock to land with the Bears with the first overall pick, but no one knows what the Bears could look to do with their second pick in the first ten selections on opening night. However, their visiting schedule this week could be telling for what the team will do with that pick.
The Bears are scheduled to meet with three separate wide receivers this week, who are all projected to land in the first round of the draft. The front office has already met with Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze and now the team will be officially meeting with Ohio State's Marvin Harrison Jr., LSU's Malik Nabers, and Texas' Xavier Worthy ahead of the draft.
Harrison Jr. and Nabers have be consistently mocked into at least the Top-10 selections in the first round and Worthy has found his way into the first round more consistently in expert mock drafts after breaking the 40-yard dash record at the NFL Scouting Combine a few weeks back.
The two top wide receivers in the class will be in contention to be selected by the Bears with the ninth overall pick, as is Odunze, if one of the three are on the board. General manager Ryan Poles could even look to get aggressive by moving up to secure one of those three if he so desires.
As for Worthy, the Bears only opportunity to select the former Longhorn speedster is by moving back from the ninth overall pick in a trade. The Bears currently have no selections between nine and #75 in the third round.
On social media, Worthy confirmed his visit to Chicago by posting a picture flying into the city while tagging the Bears' potential first overall pick in the post. The two top prospects have been supporting each other throughout the entire process with Williams even liking posts reacting to Worthy's record breaking 40-time.
The Bears have now done an extensive job looking into, and getting to know, many of the top wide receivers in the upcoming draft class. Poles mentioned the position as one of the three that he and the front office are considering when discussing what to do with the ninth overall pick in the draft.
The Bears' roster already features two star caliber wide receivers in DJ Moore and Keenan Allen, who are each coming off a career-high season in 2023. Adding in a top prospect to the room will continue to give their next franchise quarterback all of the tools and weapons needed to take the league by storm in 2024.
Bears are set to host one of the top wide receivers in the 2024 NFL Draft for a Top-30 visit
There seems to be plenty of interest.
