Even in defeat, Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields remains a center piece in the NFL’s quarterback conversation.

Fields became the only player in NFL history to pass for three touchdowns and run for 140 yards in Chicago’s heart-breaking loss to the Miami Dolphins.

Fields finished the day 17/28 for 123 yards and three passing touchdowns. He added 178 yards on the ground with 15 carries, highlighted by this 61-yard touchdown scamper.

He has raised his fair share of eyebrows over the last three games. Interestingly enough, Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is the latest to admit that Fields is the real deal.

“Dude is a baller,” Tagovailoa said. “He was making some plays in the pass game as well. I’m happy for him. I’m happy for the success that he’s finding, he’s finding himself in this league. I think people are starting to recognize [it] the more he gets out and has those opportunities to play.”

Though the two quarterbacks don’t exactly mirror each other, Tagovailoa and Fields share plenty of similarities. Neither quarterback had much to work with in their rookie season, but both took significant steps forward in Year Two.

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel joined in with more praise for Fields after the game.

“Justin Fields is as dynamic with the ball in his hands as any player in the league,” McDaniel stated.

Although Bears fans know how explosive Fields can be, it’s always exciting to hear others, especially opponents, reaffirm the young quarterback’s talent.
