The Chicago Bears will be returning home and heading into the bye week with a 4-2 record after decimating the Jacksonville Jaguars in London this past weekend.
It was another team effort to get the big win but it was also the second straight game where the offense scored 5+ touchdowns.
Rookie quarterback Caleb Williams was especially exceptional and earned the highest Pro Football Focus grade on the team for his efforts. Here's the list of the best and worst grades on the Bears from Week 6.
Most Notable Grade
Williams easily wins the most notable grade of the week. Usually I don't go with the highest grade for this category but Williams' grade was noteworthy for a few different reasons.
The first – Williams' 87.9 grade from Sunday's game was his highest mark of his career thus far. The high grade was warranted after Williams completed 79.3 percent of his passes for 226 yards and four touchdowns, with one interception, while adding 56 yards on the ground on four carries.
The second – Williams' grade from Week 6 was the highest among all quarterbacks (pending MNF) of the week. His specific passing grade (82.8) was also the highest among all quarterbacks following Sunday's games. Overall, it was an incredible performance from QB1.
Top 5 Grades
As for the rest of the top grades, here's the Top-5 grades from the offense and defense from Week 6.
Offense:
QB Caleb Williams – 87.9
RT Darnell Wright – 78.2
WR Keenan Allen – 77.2
LG Teven Jenkins – 76.0
TE Cole Kmet – 74.9
Defense:
S Kevin Byard – 85.3
DE Montez Sweat – 81.5
LB Amen Ogbongbemiga – 78.7
S Elijah Hicks – 78.1
CB Kyler Gordon – 77.2
Darnell Wright was the biggest surprise to see crack inside the Top-5. Wright had his highest offensive grade of the season against the Jaguars after allowing just three pressures and zero QB hits. Montez Sweat also posted his highest grade of the season after logging one sack and six pressures.
Kyler Gordon was also having one his best games of his career before being forced to leave the game due to injury. And it was great to see Elijah Hicks finish with a solid grade after starting the game in place of Jaquan Brisker.
Bottom 5 Grades
Here are the bottom-5 grades from the offense and defense after Week 6.
Offense:
TE Gerald Everett – 52.2
RB Roschon Johnson – 53.9
TE Marcedes Lewis – 56.7
RB D'Andre Swift – 59.2
OL Doug Kramer – 60.0
Defense:
DT Andrew Billings – 38.0
LB Tremaine Edmunds – 54.5
DT Byron Cowart – 56.3
DE Daniel Hardy – 56.5
LB Noah Sewell – 60.0
It was a surprise to see Billings have another bad game but he wasn't his usual disruptive self on Sunday. On offense, it's starting to become a trend seeing Gerald Everett and Marcedes Lewis grade among the lowest players on the team.
Chicago is playing its best football going into the bye but the toughest road is still to come for the Bears 2024 season
It definitely doesn’t get easier from here.
