If you didn't see this last week, you'll have to check it out because it was pretty funny even though it was a little immature.

Chicago Bears' quarterback Caleb Williams received a text last week from number pretending to be Detroit Lions' offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, the man who is at the top of the team's head coaching search.

The number told Williams that he would be taking the team's head coaching position and wanted to reach out to the quarterback first. Williams fell for the bait in an innocent way. Soon after a back and forth text exchange Williams got a FaceTime call from the number only to find a group of kids on the other side of the call.

From an outside perspective, it was a funny prank by the group of kids who somehow managed to get Williams' number. But, now we have Williams' side of things and he wasn't happy with what happened to him.

On Wednesday, Williams appeared on the St. Brown Podcast with fellow NFL players Amon-Ra St. Brown and Equanimeous St. Brown to detail what happened.

"The text was so official. I've gotten that text from college coaches and other coaches before getting drafted and all that in different ways," Williams explained. "It looked mad professional so I was going to reach out."

To make things even more hilarious, Williams added he reached out to Amon-Ra, the Lions' star wide receiver to make sure the number was legit Ben Johnson before reaching out and Amon-Ra never responded.

"I ain't going to lie, it was a classic prank," Williams said. "It was a grade A, S-tier prank. I gotta give them props."

Once he realized it was a prank after all, Williams played along with the callers and kept his cool but mentioned he was "fuming" after hanging up on the conversation. He has since changed his phone number, so good luck pranking him again.

Overall, it was a harmless prank but it still would tick me off too if I were in Williams' shoes. At the end of the day, much worse things could have happened and much better things will be on the horizon.

The Bears had their first virtual interview with Johnson on January 11th and will likely have him in-person for a second interview in the coming weeks. So, there's a shot Williams actually gets a real text from the real Ben Johnson in the near future.
