The Chicago Bears absolutely nailed their two first round picks during the first night of the 2024 NFL Draft.

After taking USC quarterback Caleb Williams with the first overall pick, the Bears stayed put at the ninth overall pick and gave their franchise signal-caller a new top weapon in Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze.

The two newest stars of the Bears' future have already gotten off to a hot start building their chemistry and Williams had the perfect reaction to the Bears selecting his new-found friend with the team's second first round pick.

Soon after the decision was make, Williams quickly went backstage and found Odunze after he was able to savor the moment of being drafted himself. Williams surprised Odunze from behind and the two shared a great moment together.

Williams and Odunze have already connected once ahead of the draft after the two met up with their new teammates DJ Moore and Keenan Allen for a throwing session ahead of the draft. Now, they will all join forces in Chicago.

"I'm excited," Odunze said after the draft. "I got to see from another sideline how special he is. To finally be on his team now, I know that we are going to accomplish some great things."

During his opening press conference after arriving in Chicago, Odunze was asked about the moment between him and Williams that took place during the first round.

"It's surreal," Odunze said. "The little things before any of us knew how it would play out that happened before were kind of special to make that moment even more special. It's super exciting to be a teammate of his and to be along on this journey together."

It's fantastic to see the Bears immediately grant their franchise quarterback his number one wish in the draft while adding another prolific pass catcher to the offense.
