The Ben Johnson Era is officially here for the Chicago Bears, with the official announcement coming as soon as Johnson lands in Chicago to sign the papers.
Soon after the announcement was made that Johnson is expected to become the team's next head coach, everyone exploded on social media.
Bears' safety Jaquan Brisker called the hire "the turning point" on social media and franchise quarterback Caleb Williams liked the post made by the NFL's official account on Instagram of the team planning to hire Johnson.
But that's not the only thing that will have fans going crazy on social media. Soon after the announcement was made that Johnson will be the next head coach in Chicago, his franchise quarterback was seen alongside Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, according to Jeanty's Instagram story.
The Heisman-finalist is considered to be one of the top offensive players in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft after leading the country with 2,601 rushing yards. Seeing the two hanging out when this news dropped is probably just a coincidence, but let's consider the possibility here.
Could Ben Johnson and the Bears look to draft Ashton Jeanty?
The Bears have the 10th overall pick in April's draft and will be looking for a blue chip prospect to add to the roster. And Ben Johnson might be able to steer the front office toward giving him the top weapon in the class to pair in the backfield with Williams.
Now, adding a top offensive lineman to protect Williams would be ideal in the first-round but if the team can add help in the trenches elsewhere, Jeanty is hard to avoid.
I mean we're talking about Johnson, who was on the team that moved around the draft board to eventually select Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs with the 12th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Johnson's work with Gibbs and fellow running back David Montgomery speaks for itself with the two combining for 5,438 scrimmage yards over the last two seasons.
The Bears already went out to add a dynamic back in free agency last offseason in D'Andre Swift, who totaled 1,345 scrimmage yards in his first season in Chicago. However, the tape showed the Bears could look to add another back to split carries with in order to help Swift become a more consistent weapon.
With the team's new head coach in the picture now, he might feel the same way. And Jeanty could be the guy that can help take his new offense to a whole new level.

This is going to be a match made in heaven.
