Caleb Williams sends a strong message to the rest of the league and anyone else who doubts the Bears moving forward
This is not the same ole Bears anymore.
It didn’t take long to realize the Chicago Bears team in 2025 was not the same ole Bears that became the laughing stock of the NFL and even despite an 11-6 record, the doubters still remained.
When this team hired head coach Ben Johnson last January, he said the Bears were a sleeping giant and his goal was to wake up the organization and lead them back into relevancy and reestablish a winning culture in Chicago.
The Bears have certainly done that and are now advancing to the second round of the NFC playoffs after another miraculous comeback win over the Green Bay Packers.
Caleb Williams sends a loud message regarding the Bears and the potential doubters
“We’re here,” Williams told reporters after Saturday’s playoff win. “We’ll be here for a while. That’s my plan. Be here with Coach, win a bunch of games, be in these moments, and come out victorious. That’s the mindset for right now, this year, and it’s also the mindset for the future.”
With Johnson and Williams leading this team, the Bears are truly building special and this isn’t some fluke season, it’s only the beginning for what this team can achieve for years to come.
The Bears are back as a serious threat in the NFC and will be cruising into another home playoff game in the second round with a ton of momentum, but there are still key things to learn and improve upon after this game.
“We want to keep this going, that was my message to the team after the game,” Williams added. “We gotta fix whatever we gotta fix. We gotta start faster, we gotta play better, we gotta execute more, if we want to reach the goal that we want to reach. Happy to advance, it starts with tomorrow, starts with whatever day we come back. We have a goal in mind that we want to reach and it starts with being 1-0.”
All season long, the Bears have seemed like the team of destiny for the way they’ve pulled off some of this nail-biting games late in the fourth quarter. But, what this team is building goes well beyond this season and this is only Year 1.
The coming years will be just as fruitful for this organization because the Bears finally got the right head coach and quarterback leading the way. The Bears are here, they mean business, and they’re not going away anytime soon. The rest of the NFL should be on notice.
