It's shaping up to be a big holiday weekend for Chicago Bears' rookie quarterback Caleb Williams.
The weekend will kick off on Thanksgiving this Thursday with the Bears traveling to take on the Detroit Lions looking to put an end to a five game losing streak.
After the game, Williams will be back on the plane and heading back to his alma mater for a massive college football game on Saturday.
The University of Southern California will be taking on No. 5 ranked Notre Dame at LA Memorial Coliseum where the Trojans are set to honor their former starting quarterback.
According to Chris Emma, USC will be retiring Williams' #13 jersey on Saturday and the team's former Heisman-winning quarterback will also be leading the rest of the team out of the tunnel ahead of kickoff.
With his number set to officially be retired on Saturday, Williams will join fellow USC standout stars Mike Garrett (No. 20), O.J. Simpson (32), Charles White (12), Carson Palmer (3), Matt Leinart (11) and Reggie Bush (5) as alumni who have had their jersey numbers retired.
During his Heisman-winning season in 2022, Williams set multiple school records including most passing yards in a season (4,537), most total touchdowns in a season (52), and most passing touchdowns in a season (42).
Williams went on to become the first Trojan since Carson Palmer in 2003 to be drafted with the first overall pick in the NFL Draft when the Chicago Bears selected him in April's draft.
Just 11 games into his rookie season, Williams is continuing the rewrite record books. On Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, Williams passed Mitchell Trubisky for the most passing yards by a rookie in Bears' history. With one passing touchdown on Thursday, Williams will also pass Charlie O'Rourke for the most passing touchdowns by a rookie in franchise history.
It's going to be quiet the weekend for the former USC and future Bears star.
