The Chicago Bears hired Ryan Poles earlier this offseason to replace Ryan Pace as the franchise's general manager.
Poles previously served as the Kansas City Chiefs' executive director of player personnel.
The new Bears general manager made it clear after being hired that his goal in Chicago will be winning a Super Bowl.
"I'm looking forward to hitting the ground running to help get this organization, its fanbase, and the city what they deserve: a winning team and a Super Bowl trophy," said Poles after being introduced as the new Chicago general manager.
The Bears haven't won a Super Bowl since 1985. And they've only won two NFC championships in franchise history (1985 and 2006).
That means Poles will have to accomplish something that many of his predecessors have been unable to accomplish.
While it will certainly be a tough task, the Cincinnati Bengals proved in 2021 that a quick turnaround is very possible in the NFL (Cincy went from 2-14 to the AFC Championship game in just two years). That alone should give Bears fans plenty of hope for the future.
Poles has his work cut out for him, but it certainly sounds like he's ready to take on the challenge of turning the Bears into Super Bowl contenders.
